March–May · Before hurricane season

June–October · Hurricane and rainy season
- Keep the current plan, contacts, and household plumbing record accessible.
- Record recurring drainage, yard, pressure, moisture, and utility-notice patterns.
- Avoid testing a backup by running more water.
- Update the plan after a repair, storm impact, or system change.
November–December · Close the record
- Save completed work, permits or inspections where required, and warranties.
