Common causes of low water pressure

First determine whether low pressure affects one fixture, one part of the home, or the entire property. A fixture restriction, partly closed house valve, water-softener issue, leak, private piping problem, or utility work can produce different patterns, so avoid adjusting pressure controls yourself before the source is identified.

A local control, aerator, cartridge, hose, or fixture restriction is more plausible than a property-wide event.

Hot water only

Stop at the water-heating boundary

Record which fixtures, temperature, recovery, and visible conditions; do not adjust fuel, electrical, or relief controls.

Whole property

Check notices, neighbors, known private controls, and recent work

Utility service, a private main, regulator, filter, treatment system, well, or leak can require different responders.

Controls that should not become experiments
